JOCLIP · UPDATED OCTOBER 19, 2026
Privacy Policy
JoClip is provided by ReEducate. This policy explains how our mobile apps, website, and account services handle your information.
Your media and projects
JoClip processes source videos, photos, and audio on your device for editing and export. Those source media files are not automatically uploaded to our servers. Local projects, imported fonts, thumbnails, preferences, and exports may be stored on your device or in your browser.
If you use account-based project saving, we receive and store project information needed to provide that feature. This can include project names, editing instructions, text or captions you enter, media metadata, and references to local files. It is separate from uploading the original video or audio files. Do not include sensitive information in project names or text unless you intend to store it through that feature.
Some tools download models or other resources to run locally. Providers serving those downloads receive normal network information such as your IP address. Choosing to send a file or screenshot to support is separate from routine editing.
Optional cloud AI
Cloud AI is separate from local editing. Before the first upload, JoClip asks you to continue after explaining that your prompt, chosen image references and selected original-video range will be sent to our service and fal.ai and its model providers. The rest of your local project is not uploaded by that operation. Use references you have permission to process; person replacement also requires confirmation of permission to use the people shown.
Media is stored privately in Amazon S3 with temporary access capabilities. Reference copies expire after 24 hours; completed results remain available for 30 days unless you remove the cloud copy earlier. We request 24-hour expiration for provider media and disable fal input/output request history. Provider processing is also subject to fal.ai’s privacy terms and those of its model providers; we do not promise zero retention by every model provider.
Prompts, selected range identifiers, generation status and credit records are linked to your anonymous membership or account. Scheduled cleanup removes expired creation prompts. Financial ledger records are retained separately for billing and refund reconciliation. Account deletion schedules associated cloud copies for removal; active requests may finish processing first. Downloaded copies remain on your device. Media and prompt contents are excluded from usage analytics.
Account information
The mobile apps create a pseudonymous membership account so you can use purchases and AI Credits without registering. A random recovery credential is stored securely on your device; the server stores its one-way hash. The account has an internal identifier, purchase records and credit balance/history. It does not have your email unless you choose to sign in or register. After successful sign-in, your anonymous membership and credit records can be linked to that account. Verified store purchases can recover anonymous ownership; they do not sign you into a registered account.
When you create or use an account, we process your email address, account identifier, authentication provider identifier where applicable, session and security information, and account preferences. Password accounts use a one-way password hash, not a stored plain-text password. Sign-in providers such as Apple or Google process sign-in under their own privacy policies.
Account information is used to authenticate you, provide account features, respond to your requests, and protect against misuse. When you create an account, we may receive a country or region code from network delivery headers and retain it with your account for signup geography analytics. This is country-level information, not GPS or precise location. It is separate from optional mobile usage analytics and can be collected when you create an account even if usage analytics is off.
Purchases and AI Credits
When you purchase a subscription, the relevant app store or website payment provider processes your payment. We may receive purchase identifiers, subscription status, plan, renewal or expiry dates, and other transaction information needed to provide access, restore purchases, handle billing, or prevent fraud. We do not receive your full payment card details from app-store purchases.
AI Credit records and optional Apple reporting
We keep credit grants, balances, monthly release dates, refund adjustments and credit-use records to deliver your membership, carry unused credits forward and prevent duplicate grants or misuse. Optional cloud AI shows a maximum price before generation, reserves credits while processing and charges on successful delivery. Failed requests and unused reservations return to availability. Refunded grants are reversed; amounts already spent can create a credit debt. The applicable store decides whether to approve a refund.
Apple refund reporting is optional and off by default. If you explicitly enable it in the iOS wallet, JoClip can share purchase delivery and whether its AI Credits were used to help Apple review refund requests. Apple makes refund decisions. You can withdraw this consent in the wallet at any time, and linking anonymous accounts resets it. This reporting does not include your media or project contents.
Support and communications
When you email us or send feedback, we process the contact details and content you provide. Website feedback can include the current page, basic browser details, and your account email if you are signed in. We use this information to investigate problems, answer requests, and improve JoClip. Email delivery may be handled by Resend and our email providers.
Analytics, cookies, and local storage
Our website records usage events such as page visits, tool selections, export formats, and account actions. These records can include a visitor or session identifier, a signed-in account identifier, country, referrer, and basic technical information. Website product events are also sent to Google Analytics 4. Media contents are not intentionally included in analytics events.
The website uses browser storage and cookies for sign-in sessions, editor preferences, local projects, favorites, and analytics identifiers. You can control cookies and clear local storage in your browser; doing so can sign you out or remove locally saved work. Third-party analytics may be limited by your browser’s tracking controls.
Mobile usage analytics are off by default and controlled separately in Settings. If you opt in, we receive typed app-open, editor, import, export, feature and paywall outcome events, platform, event time and a one-event random identifier. These events contain no account, session or persistent device identifier, media, filenames, paths, project names, entered text or captions. Native events are not sent to Google Analytics 4. Turning analytics off clears queued native events. Operational security and service-request logs may still be processed when you use online features.
Native diagnostic bundles are shown on your device and shared only after you review their contents and choose a destination. This manual support workflow is separate from optional usage analytics.
Why we use information
We use information to provide the features you request, maintain your account and subscription, respond to support requests, improve reliability, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations. Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our agreement with you, our legitimate interests in maintaining a secure and reliable service, legal obligations, or your consent where required. You may withdraw consent for optional processing without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Sharing and service providers
We do not sell your personal information. We share data with service providers only as needed to operate JoClip, including hosting and database services, Cloudflare for network delivery and security, email providers, Google Analytics for website analytics, authentication providers, and payment platforms such as Apple, Google, or our website billing provider.
We may disclose information where required by law, to protect users and the service, or as part of a business transfer subject to applicable safeguards. Providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, international transfers are subject to appropriate legal safeguards.
Retention and security
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the relevant service and meet security, accounting, dispute-resolution, and legal requirements. Account-based project information is retained while needed for your account, unless you delete it or request deletion. Limited logs, backups, and transaction records may remain for legitimate operational or legal reasons. Local media remains on your device until you remove it.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No storage or transmission system is completely secure, and you should maintain your own backups of important media and projects.
Your choices and rights
You can edit locally without creating an account, choose which media to import, manage app permissions through your device, and turn optional mobile analytics on or off. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, or receive a portable copy of your personal information, and to complain to your local data-protection authority.
To delete your account, use Account → Delete account in the app or follow our account deletion instructions. Use our support page for privacy requests. We may verify your identity before acting. Deleting an account does not cancel an app-store subscription or remove files saved to your device.
Children
JoClip’s online account services are not directed to children under 13, or the higher minimum age required in their country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without legally required authorization. If you believe a child has provided personal information inappropriately, contact us so we can investigate and remove it where required.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as JoClip evolves. We will update the date above and provide any additional notice required by law. For questions about this policy or ReEducate’s handling of information, use our support page.
